Lord Giddie, Ph.D., director of learning experience design at National Louis University with a doctorate degree from The Chicago School, brings more than 15 years of expertise in instructional design. With a focus on the intersection between technology and education, and artificial intelligence, Dr. Giddie explores how AI is reshaping course design and inclusive learning environments.
Dr. Giddie explains that traditional course design can take three months or more using current tools, but AI tools can significantly reduce preparation time when provided with an overview of assignments, classroom activities, and learning outcomes. While higher education has been slow to adopt AI in teaching and learning, institutions are catching up. Dr. Giddies cautions against jumping in too quickly without doing careful planning but emphasizes that AI in education is here to stay, so educators must meet the challenge to integrate AI responsibly and make the most of the opportunities it offers.
